ROCHELLE IS A PASSIONATE CREATIVE, INFINITELY INSPIRED BY THE ORGANIC BALANCE OF COLORS AND FORMS IN NATURE

ABOUT ROCHELLE

Rochelle Fox is a textile designer, illustrator, and fine artist based in NYC. After graduating with a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Central Florida, she moved to New York where she discovered her passion for textile design. Over the past ten years, she has been developing prints and graphics for several brands, including her own personal collections. She specializes in screen printing, painting, and drawing, bringing a uniquely artistic approach to print development and design.

In 2008, she launched Rochelle Fox Design, selling collections of silk scarves, women’s apparel, housewares, and stationary at designer markets and yoga studios throughout NYC and Brooklyn. In 2010, her collection of hand-painted silk scarves were featured on the Martha Stewart blog as well as the Artists and Fleas Market website. On a corporate level, Rochelle has developed print collections from concept to production for several brands, including Victoria’s Secret, Betsey Johnson, Dreamfit, NOBO, and Le Mystere. Rochelle continues to create fine art as well as commercial designs for fashion, home goods, and various projects.

ABOUT THE WORK

Rochelle’s intricately detailed work is inspired by nature, architectural details, Japanese prints, and eastern philosophies of balance and harmony. She draws much of her creative inspiration from the infinite energy and rich culture of New York City. Rochelle is continually experimenting with new techniques, but her preferred mediums are pen and ink, watercolors, acrylic, printmaking, and most recently laser cutting. Her ethereal gardens with imaginative structures are meant to evoke dreamlike states, the subconscious mind, and meditation. Above all, Rochelle seeks to create images of serenity to contrast the overly stimulating, yet endlessly inspirational urban landscapes of the modern world.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States, including the Orlando Museum of Art (Florida), Purdue University West Gallery (Indiana), and the Monmouth Museum (New Jersey). In 2010, Rochelle’s screen print "Ethereal Escape" was included in the Tibet House Annual Auction at Christie’s in NYC, raising money to preserve the Tibetan culture. In 2015, her “Metamorphosis” drawings were chosen as one of nine North American artist’s work to be published in The Sketchbook Project World Tour book.
